Librarians are poor signmakers. Talkative and genteel, they often fail to realize library patrons are already too overwhelmed with information to read lengthy invitations to, please, abstain from using their personal mobile communication devices. The beauty of this sign is its simplicity. One word and one image convey the meaining much more effectively than two paragraphs of (not so) persuasive copy.
